In what for was Charles Dickens first book published?

Charles Dickens' first book, "Sketches by Boz", was published in serialized form. It was first printed in 1836 in a magazine called "The Monthly Magazine".

Later that year, the sketches were compiled and published as a book by Chapman and Hall.

So, technically, it was published both in serial form and as a book in the same year.
