What can a HCA do to help?

Help with activities of daily living: HCAs can help residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other basic needs.

Prepare and serve meals: Some HCAs may be responsible for preparing and serving meals for residents.

Provide transportation: HCAs may drive residents to appointments or other outings.

Provide socialization opportunities: HCAs can organize activities and events for residents to interact with each other and stay engaged.

Monitor residents' health: HCAs can monitor residents' vital signs, weight, and other health indicators, and report any changes to nurses.

Assist with medications: HCAs may assist with administering medications as directed by nurses.

Provide emotional support: HCAs can offer emotional support to residents and their families.
