1. Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Age Limit: The minimum age to appear for the exam is 21 years and the maximum is 32 years. There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
3. Educational Qualifications: a) Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university; or b) Possess a professional degree (e.g. MBBS, BTech, LLB, etc.) from any recognised university; or c) Final year students of 3 years degree course can also apply, but they must complete their graduation before the written exam.
4. Number of Attempts: Candidates belonging to the General Category are permitted a maximum of 6 attempts; OBC candidates get 9 attempts; and SC/ST candidates get an unlimited number of attempts.
5. Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit according to the standards prescribed by the Government of India.
