How do you spell the letters of alphabet in German?

The German alphabet uses the same letters as English, but with some pronunciation differences. There isn't a direct translation of "A, B, C..." like you'd have in English. Instead, you say each letter's name:

* A: A

* B: B

* C: C

* D: D

* E: E

* F: F

* G: G

* H: H

* I: I

* J: Jot (or sometimes just J)

* K: Ka

* L: El

* M: Em

* N: En

* O: O

* P: Pe

* Q: Qu

* R: Er

* S: Es

* T: Te

* U: U

* V: Vau (or sometimes just V)

* W: Doppel-V (double V)

* X: Iks

* Y: Ypsilon

* Z: Zet

Note that the pronunciation of these letter names will differ from English. For example, the German "R" is a uvular "R", very different from the English "R". The "ch" sound in "ich" is also unique to German.
