Have the children build structures with Legos or blocks to gain knowledge about the formation of lines and shapes. The tactual nature of Legos helps develop the child's sense of touch and feel without relying on visuals. You can turn the activity into a contest to see which student can stack the blocks the highest in a given time frame.
Set up an area with a lane roughly five feet long and a goal at one end approximately five feet wide. Introduce the children to the space around them--emphasize the distance between all ends of the established area. Have each child roll a ball from one end of the lane to the other, with the intention of it landing as close to the goal as possible. Take measurements of each attempt to show improvement.
For this game you'll need five to 10 balloons and about half as many small jingle bells. Insert the bells into half of the balloons, then inflate all the balloons--both with and without the bells. Tie strings to each individual balloon and secure a loop at the end for the child to place a finger in. Have each child pull two balloons--one with a bell and one without--to discern the differences in feel and sound between the distinct balloons.
