Encourage the kids to wiggle and giggle to music. Play musical chairs or just have fun with the kids playing around in the grass outdoors. Make up songs with the words "wiggle" and "giggle" in the lyrics. The kids can help you write the songs beforehand and then go outside and have fun singing them. This activity can help preschoolers get their wiggles out before having to sit down and work on crafts or basic assignments.
Play "The Wiggles" DVDs before or after each class. These shows feature a kid-centered band called "The Wiggles." They sing songs, play instruments and dance to music that appeals to small children. They sing favored classics such as "Hot Potato," but they are always coming up with new material. The band features four silly men who dress in bright colors and sometimes add hats or costumes to their routine. Encourage the kids to dance around and follow the lead of the singers.
Help the kids make crafts that have a wiggle theme such as wiggle worms. Help the kids paint or draw wiggle worms, fish or other creatures that like to wiggle. The kids can make picture books, collages or paper crafts featuring wiggly crawling bugs and other animals that like to dance in nature. Some of the finished projects might produce a few giggles also.
The kids might also want to play other fun wiggle games that involve dressing up like characters and wiggling. You can also put blindfolds on some of the kids and get their friends to make them wiggle by tickling them. Tell the kids kids to wiggle like a worm or giggle like their favorite cartoon character.
