Do you go into 9th grade if did not pass your 8th sol?

In most school systems, you do not automatically advance to 9th grade if you fail to pass your 8th-grade standardized tests (SOLs in Virginia). However, the exact consequences vary by state and even by individual school district. You might be:

* Required to repeat 8th grade: This is a common outcome.

* Allowed to proceed to 9th grade with support: Some schools might allow you to move on but with extra help, tutoring, or summer school to catch up.

* Placed in a summer school program: Summer school is often used to help students who need to improve their grades before advancing.

You need to check with your school counselor or administration to understand the specific policies in your school district. They will be able to tell you what the requirements are for promotion to 9th grade.
