How many people get into fights at school?

The number of people who get into fights in schools can vary widely depending on various factors such as the size and location of the school, the school culture and disciplinary practices, and socio-economic factors in the surrounding community. However, according to data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) in the United States:

- In the 2017-2018 school year, an estimated 1.3 million public school students in grades 9-12 were involved in at least one fight on school property.

- This accounted for about 6% of all public school students in those grades.

- More male students were involved in fights compared to female students.

- The rate of fights was higher among students in urban schools compared to suburban or rural schools.

- Fights were most likely to occur in middle schools compared to elementary or high schools.
