How do you find the line of syMmetry?

1. Identify any points of symmetry. Points of symmetry are points that are equidistant from two other points, such as the center of a circle or the midpoint of a line segment.

2. Draw a line through the points of symmetry. This line will be the line of symmetry.

3. Check that the line of symmetry divides the shape into two congruent halves. If the two halves of the shape are not congruent, then the line is not a line of symmetry.

Here are some examples of how to find the line of symmetry:

* To find the line of symmetry of a circle, draw any line through the center of the circle.

* To find the line of symmetry of a square, draw a line through the center of the square, connecting two opposite corners.

* To find the line of symmetry of a rectangle, draw a line through the center of the rectangle, connecting two opposite sides.

* To find the line of symmetry of an equilateral triangle, draw any line through the center of the triangle, connecting two of the vertices.

Once you have found the line of symmetry, you can use it to divide the shape into two congruent halves. This can be useful for a variety of purposes, such as creating patterns or designs, or solving math problems.
