What are examples of decimals?

Decimals are numbers that have a whole number part and a fractional part, separated by a decimal point. Here are some examples:

* 0.5: This represents one-half (1/2).

* 3.14: This is an approximation of pi (π).

* 12.99: A price, for example.

* -2.75: A negative decimal.

* 0.003: A small decimal.

* 100.0: A whole number written in decimal form.

* 25.075: A decimal with three digits after the decimal point.

* -0.1: A negative decimal less than 1.

Essentially, any number containing a decimal point is a decimal.
