How to Make a Plant Cell 3D Model

Cells are the basic building blocks of life. Plant cells are complex organisms with many small parts. Unlike animal cells, plant cells have a cell wall. The plastic container represents the cell wall for this model. Understand the function of each part of the plant cell to answer questions. A separate key will be required to label each part of the cell in this model.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Place the clear plastic bag inside the square plastic container. This plastic bag is the cell membrane. Make Jello according to package instructions and pour into a plastic container.

    • 2

Place peas, grapes, pepper, cooked spaghetti noodles, small lasagna noodles, football noodles and plum into the Jello before it sets.

    • 3

Cut ham slice into the shape of a vacuole. Place in jello. Close the top of the plastic bag and place the whole model into the refrigerator to chill overnight.

    • 4

Create a key to identify each part of the cell. Write the name of the cell part followed by the name of the item being used to represent that cell part.
