The LET covers a wide range of topics related to teaching, including:

- Professional Education
- Major Field
The General Education portion of the LET covers subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The Professional Education portion covers topics such as teaching methods, curriculum development, and educational psychology. The Major Field portion covers topics specific to the teaching field that the applicant is applying for, such as elementary education, secondary education, special education, or physical education.
To be eligible to take the LET, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university. They must also have completed the required coursework in their chosen teaching field.
The LET is held twice a year, in March and September. The exam is typically composed of 200 multiple-choice questions. The passing score for the LET is 75%.
Passing the LET is a requirement for obtaining a professional teaching license in the Philippines. With a professional teaching license, teachers can teach in public or private schools in the Philippines.
