CAN IB teachers access student scores?

IB teachers can access some student scores, but not all, and the extent of access depends on several factors:

* Before the exam: Teachers have access to internal assessment (IA) marks for their own students. This includes things like the internal assessments for subjects like English, History, Sciences, etc.

* After the exam: Teachers typically do not have access to the final IB grades (the overall score out of 45). They may receive an aggregate score for their cohort, but individual student scores are confidential and only released to the students themselves. Some schools may receive a summary of results for their cohort which may provide some high-level information, but not individual student data.

* Component scores: After the exams, teachers may (or may not, depending on IB policy and school practices) receive a breakdown of student performance on specific sections of the external assessments (exams). This information is generally used for internal analysis and improvement of teaching strategies, not for sharing with individual students or parents beyond what is already in the student's results.

In short, while IB teachers have access to internal assessment grades and potentially some aggregated data on external assessments, access to individual student's final IB grades is strictly controlled and confidential to protect student privacy.
