Research Irish culture on the Internet. If you open up a Web browser and type in the words "Irish culture," hundreds of results will be returned. Scroll through the results, read the descriptions and click on the links that interest you. Some Web sites to consider exploring include irishcultureandcustoms.com, irishpage.com and Ireland-fun-facts.com. Investigate the sites to locate the traditions and customs you are interested in learning about.
Visit the library to find books about Irish culture. Either take them out to search through them at home, or search through them while at the library. Take notes on any pertinent information that you find. Be sure to read some good works on Irish history, because Ireland's relations with England for centuries have colored so many aspects of Irish culture, including literature, music and thought.
Interview someone who comes from Ireland. Before interviewing the person, write out a list of questions that you want to ask. Ask your questions and write down the answers. Allow the interviewee to elaborate or offer any information that she feels is of value.
Travel to Ireland. Plan a trip that will allow you to immerse yourself in Irish culture. Learn about the people, the customs, the music and the traditions of the country first-hand. Visit libraries and museums while you are in the country. Stay at bed-and-breakfasts as opposed to hotels, as you will be able to learn a lot about the culture from the families that run the inns. Travel to some of the famous monuments, such as the Dublin Post Office, the Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin and the Hill of Tara in County Wexford.
