How Can I Remember the Parts of a Cell?

Some organisms are made up of a single cell, others are made up of millions. Students studying biology are required to learn the parts of the cell and how they function. Simple study tactics will help you remember exactly which part is which, and what it does.

  • Photo copier

    • 1

      Research cell diagrams. These illustrations depict the various parts of a cell in color, with each part labeled with its name.

      Create a copy of the cell diagram, blanking out the labels.

      Label each part of the cell from memory.

    • 4

      Compare your work against the fully labeled diagram to see which cell parts you were able to correctly identify and which you missed.

      Study the diagram until you can name all the parts of the cell.

    • 6

      Repeat Steps 2 through 5 until you are able to label a drawing of the cell without any assistance from the answer key.
