How to Figure Out the Measurement in Millimeters When You Know It in Centimeters

The metric system is the worldwide standard for weights and measurement. The base units of the International System (SI) are precisely defined to allow for the most accurate measurements. The meter (m) is the standard unit of length in the metric system. The centimeter (cm) is defined as 100 equal divisions of a meter. Each centimeter contains 10 millimeters (mm). Therefore, one meter contains 1,000 millimeters. When a measurement is known in centimeters, it is a very straightforward conversion to express the length in millimeters.
