What is the difference between American high school and british school?

American High School

* Typically grades 9-12

* Students are typically 14-18 years old

* Classes are held during the day, usually from 8am-3pm

* Students take a variety of subjects, including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language

* Students may also participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports, clubs, and music

British School

* Typically grades 7-13

* Students are typically 11-18 years old

* Classes are held during the day, usually from 9am-3:30pm

* Students take a core curriculum of subjects, including English, Math, Science, and Social Studies

* Students also choose to study additional subjects, such as Foreign Language, Art, Music, and Drama

* Students take exams at the end of each year to progress to the next grade

* Students graduate from school after completing all required coursework and earning a certain number of credits

* A-Levels are required for admission to university
