Are there flutes in a high school marching band?

While not as common as some other instruments, some high school marching bands *do* include flutes. It's less frequent than clarinets, trumpets, saxophones, etc., primarily because the flute's sound can be easily overpowered by the larger instruments, particularly outdoors. However, it's not unheard of, especially in bands that prioritize a more diverse instrumental palette or have a particularly strong emphasis on melodic lines.
