Can 10 or 11 year be heild back into 1st 2nd. 3rd grade instead of moving on 4th 5th grade?

In most school systems, a 10 or 11-year-old would not be held back into 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade. By that age, they would typically be far beyond the curriculum of those grades. If a child is significantly behind their peers academically or socially, they might be held back a grade (perhaps to 4th grade from 5th), or provided with extra support services within their current grade. Repeating multiple grades that far back is extremely rare and generally only considered in exceptional circumstances, usually involving significant developmental delays or other special needs.
