Can a child drop out of school at 16 insouth Carolina?

In South Carolina, a child can leave school at age 16, but only with certain conditions met. They must obtain a certificate of completion or meet other requirements set by the school district. Simply turning 16 doesn't automatically allow them to leave. They need to follow the established procedures for leaving school before reaching the compulsory attendance age.
