What is public school?

Public schools are schools funded by the government (local, state, and/or federal) and are free to attend for all students who reside within the designated school district. They are open to the public, meaning any child within that district is entitled to an education there, regardless of their background or ability to pay tuition. The curriculum is typically standardized to some degree, following state or national guidelines. While standards vary by location, public schools generally aim to provide a well-rounded education covering core subjects like math, science, English, and social studies.
