When was the first Koran written?
There is no one definitive answer to when the first Quran was written. Some scholars place it as early as the 7th century CE, while others argue that it was not written until the 9th or 10th century CE. However, a majority of scholars accept that the Quran was compiled and written down within the first 200 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. There were three known scribes that had an influence on how the Koran is perceived today; their names were Ubayy Ibn Kab, Ali ibn Abi Talib, and Zayd ibn Thabit.
