What punctuation marks are put arounf the spoken words?

Spoken words are typically enclosed in quotation marks.

Here are some examples:

* "Hello," she said.

* He asked, "Where are you going?"

* "I don't know," she replied.

Important Note: The quotation marks come in two styles:

* Double quotation marks: "like this"

* Single quotation marks: 'like this'

The style you use depends on your region and publishing guidelines. In American English, double quotation marks are the standard. In British English, single quotation marks are often used.
