What do iconic and ironic mean?

Iconic

- Relating to an icon

- Widely known and appearing frequently

- Very typical of something; representing something very well.

Example: Marilyn Monroe is an iconic figure of the 20th century.

Ironic

- Expressing

contrast or discrepancy between expectations or between what is

stated and what actually happens.

- A funny or strange

situation that shows something different from what is expected.

Example: It's ironic that the weather forecast for today is rain,

but it's actually sunny.
