Choose a particular subject to research such as a famous political figure or specific animal. Make sure it is broad enough to find facts on but not narrow enough that there will be an overwhelming amount of information to sift through.
Make a list of questions and resources to use. Research resources include the Internet, textbooks, encyclopedias, interviews and newspapers.
Make an outline. Write out important subtopics you want to cover in your paper. The amount of topics will determine the length of your paper and help you narrow your research.
Write your rough draft. The introductory paragraph should provide general information on your topic. Each paragraph should cover the subtopics you wrote in your outline. End the draft with a concluding paragraph summarizing what you learned.
Edit your draft for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Ask someone else such as a parent or older sibling to proofread your piece to make sure it makes sense and flows smoothly.
