Teach your students about art history and add to the things they are learning in class. Make sure your lessons match the curriculum in some way, as this will help the children to follow the lessons. This will also help the children to understand the topic better, and memorize what you are teaching them.
Do fun projects with the children. As this is art education, your students should create as much as possible. If you have the option, ask your students what project they would like to do. Offer them various options like painting, sculpting, or collage, and see what they like best.
Take field trips. If you are teaching your children about art history, find out what galleries have exhibitions, and take your students to see them. When you take your children on field trips, get them to write short papers on what they will see, and present them to their peers.
Introduce the children to photography. Photography is a fun hobby and an art form that isn't included in standard art education curriculum. Teach your children about composition and lighting, then get them to take pictures and bring them to class, or take photos together. Additionally, you can take them to see photography exhibitions, and teach them how to use PhotoShop.
