Thanksgiving is a magical time. As everyone enters the holiday season, children are excited and anxious to participate in festive projects. Paint the entire face of the paper plate with acrylic paint in an autumn gold color. Allow this to dry. Paint the palm and thumb of the student's hand with a liberal amount of brown paint. Working quickly, paint each of the child's fingers with a different color. Press the entire hand on the plate, taking time to press each finger and the palm. Remove the child's hand from the plate and let the paint dry. Using a paintbrush, have the child paint a beak, eyes, legs and wattle on the turkey. Allow this to dry. Glue 40 one-inch pieces of felt around the outside of the paper plate creating a frame for the turkey.
