Many students assigned to 3rd grade classrooms show signs of inattentiveness and diminished focus. These students often display behavioral issues through poor response to classroom instruction, homework issues and distracted behavior. Instructors must alert the alert both the parent and the child to this behavior while mapping a course for correction.
Both parents and teachers of elementary age children must cope with the occurrence of overexcited activity in the student. This behavioral issue can be traced to a number of factors such as diet choices or a poor rest/sleep cycle. In addition overexcited students may exhibit issues regarding grades and performance as excited behavior may hinder the student's acquisition of lesson concepts.
Some 3rd grade students may exhibit aggressive behavior towards peers and teachers alike. If this behavioral issue worsens, these children must be evaluated regarding both classroom and home life as the root cause may stem from in-home issues.
Though shy behavior remains common during the formative years of many school age children, instances of prolonged social isolation may indicate underlying issues. To address this issue, both parents and teachers must communicate to properly address the social development of isolated students.
