The Vincentian Institute was a Catholic grammar school that operated in Albany, New York, from 1868 to 1970. The school was founded by the Vincentian Fathers, a Roman Catholic religious order, and was originally located on North Pearl Street. In 1928, the school moved to a new building on Western Avenue, which was designed by the architect Edward J. Walsh. The new building was known as the Glass School because of its extensive use of glass block.
The Vincentian Institute offered a rigorous academic program that prepared students for college. The school also had a strong athletic program, and its basketball team was one of the most successful in the city. The Vincentian Institute closed in 1970 due to declining enrollment. The building was later converted into apartments.
