Why do schools teach diamond instead of rhombus?

Schools do not teach "diamond" instead of "rhombus." Both terms are taught to describe different geometric shapes. A diamond is a specific type of rhombus, characterized by its equal sides and its four equal angles. A rhombus, on the other hand, is a general term for any quadrilateral with equal sides. Thus, diamonds are also rhombuses.
