What are AP credits?

AP credits are college credits earned by high school students who score high enough on Advanced Placement (AP) exams. These exams test students' knowledge in a specific subject, typically one that's equivalent to a college-level introductory course.

Colleges and universities grant these credits based on the student's AP exam score and their own individual policies. Some colleges might award a full course credit for a score of 4 or 5, while others may only accept a 5, or have different credit policies depending on the subject. A few colleges may not accept AP credits at all. It's crucial for students to check the specific AP credit policy of each college they're applying to. The credit received might also affect things like course placement and general graduation requirements.
