One advantage of homeschooling is that parents have the freedom to utilize an ever growing selection of curriculum. This includes subjects that aren't readily taught in their district.
Children who are homeschooled can get much more accomplished, in a shorter period of time. Many times it only takes a few hours to get through what would be a week's lessons, in the traditional classroom. Homework can be eliminated, as well.
Educating at home is an excellent way to improve family relationships. This is predominately because of the amount of quality time spent together, on an ongoing basis.
One disadvantage of homeschooling is that it can be very time-consuming to decide on and then prepare lesson plans. There is so much available that it is sometimes difficult to coordinate all necessary subjects in a short period of time.
Unfortunately, not everyone is an advocate of homeschooling. Many times, there will be friends and family members who will question and disapprove of this method of education.
Being together all the time, could be considered a disadvantage in some families. However, one solution to this might be scheduling outside activities, on a regular basis.
