Macromedia Inc. originally developed Dreamweaver MX in 2004 The accordion effect was not included in Dreamweaver MX.
The accordion appears as a set of buttons(tabs) vertically aligned in a column. The accordion also has one text box associated with it used to display text and images. The accordion text box expands and contracts when an accordion button is pressed to display the associated text and information.
The accordion component is used to display different information at the same position on a Web page. When an accordion button is selected, the text and graphics associated with the accordion button will be displayed on the Web page in the accordion's text box.
The accordion lets you store a high amount of information in a web page in a small amount of area. This is because information is displayed only when an accordion button is pressed. An accordion will often display information faster and in a more organized fashion that external links or bookmarks will.
