Go to a search engine such as Google or Yahoo (see references). Type in short, simple English words to search for a site that can help you. Try using "learn English" or "learning English online." You may want to also use the word "free" to avoid having to pay.
Navigate through the search results and click on sites that appeal to you. Save some of them to your bookmark bar so you can go back and visit those sites later. To do this, find the "bookmark" button at the top of your screen and click it (it may be a symbol such as a star or just the word "bookmarks").
Find a website that gives you lessons so you can start from the very beginning and more easily track your progress as you learn. If you cannot find websites like these, narrow your search from Step 1 by typing "English numbers" or "English vocabulary" and then working your way up to "English grammar."
Learn the vocabulary before you begin grammar. The Internet will be very helpful with vocabulary because you can usually type the word "translator" into a search engine and find an online conversion dictionary.
