Caterpillar 320 Excavator Specifications

Caterpillar offers five different types of excavators in its 320 series: 320C L, 320C L ME, 320C L SLR, 320C L Utility and 320C Utility. Each excavator is constructed to slightly different specifications.
  1. Weight

    • These excavators are constructed to different operating weights. The 320C L is the lightest model and weighs 21.001 metric tons, followed by the 320C L ME (21.5 metric tons), the 320C Utility (22.32 metric tons), the 320C L SLR (22.634 metric tons), and the 320C L Utility (23 metric tons).

    Dig Depth

    • Excavator dig depth is measured in feet/inches. The 320C L, 320C L Utility and 320C Utility models all dig to a depth of 22'. The 320C L ME digs to 19'2" and the 320C L SLR digs to 39'.

    Bucket Capacity

    • The 320C L, 320C L Utility and 320C Utility excavators all feature a maximum bucket capacity of 1.75 cubic yards. The 320C L ME has a maximum bucket capacity of 2.5 cubic yards and the 320C L SLR has a maximum bucket capacity of 0.8 cubic yards.
