Honda states this generator should not be tied into a household grid. Doing so could damage the generator and the appliances in the home. This unit is simply not designed for tie-in. It should only be used as stand alone power to drive equipment.
The oil should be an automotive type detergent oil designed for four-stroke engines. The specified weight is 10W-40. The service classification should be SE or SF, and the capacity is 2.5 quarts. Honda recommends to check the oil every time before the engine is used. The oil has to be changed after the first 20 hours of operation, and after every 200 hours of operation.
The engine itself is a 406 cc four-stroke single cylinder gasoline engine. It has a maximum speed of 3,600 revolutions per minute, and is air-cooled. The spark plug used is either a BPR6HS-10 or a W20FPR-U10. The fuel consumption is a gallon per hour. Fuel consumption per hour can be used to calculate fuel needs. For example if you are working on a remote site for eight hours of run time, plan on having at least eight gallons of gasoline available at the site.
The output voltage is 115 volts AC at 35 amps. In essence, the output duplicates household receptacle electricity. The generator unit itself puts forth a total of 4,000 watts of power. To determine if this is sufficient for your needs, add up all the listed wattage of your equipment. If you just run one drill or saw at a time, the wattage may be sufficient. However, if you plan to run all your power equipment at the same time, you may exceed the rating of this generator
