Nissan Truck Specifications

Nissan makes a line of small trucks that are very competitive in the world markets. These include the Frontier and Titan Models. Each has its own unique features, and are available with a variety of options. Nissan effectively markets these trucks by providing a lot of detail about them.
  1. Frontier Drivetrain

    • The engine is the Nissan VQ40DE 4-liter V-6 engine. The engine has double overhead cams. This means each side of the "V" has a cam on top of the head. The engine produces 261 horsepower at 5,600 rpm. Two transmission options are available: a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic. The six-speed manual is not available, however, on the Frontier PRO four-wheel drive vehicles. On the four-wheel drive versions of the Frontier, a switch-controlled two-speed transfer case is available. A transfer case is what transfers the engine power to the front or back wheels, in a four-wheel drive vehicle.

    Frontier Brakes

    • The brakes are disc brakes on all four wheels. On the two-wheel drive vehicles, active brake limited slip is available. On the four-wheel drive vehicles, it is for all four wheels. Active brake limited slip means the central computer controls light braking, so you don't have to constantly brake when going down a hill. Anti-lock brakes are standard on all Frontiers, as is electronic brake force distribution. Electronic brake force distribution is the central computer that controls the amount of force applied to each wheel.

    Frontier Dimensions

    • The short bed Frontier has a wheelbase of 125.9 inches, and the long bed has a wheelbase of 139.9 inches. The length overall is 205.5 inches for the short bed, and 219.4 inches for the long bed. The width for both models is 72.8 inches. The height is 73.9 inches for both models, with a roof rack. Cargo bed dimensions are given by Nissan as well. The short bed has an interior length of 59.5 inches, and a width of 61.4 inches. The long bed has an interior cargo length of 73.5 inches, and a width of 61.4 inches. Both beds have depth of 18 inches.

    Titan Drivetrain

    • The engine for all Titan models is the VK56DE Endurance engine. It is a 5.6-liter, double overhead cam V-8. Its power rating is 317 horsepower at 5,200 rpm. Some Titans are available with flex-fuel technology. This means the engine can run on either gasoline, or ethanol. A five-speed automatic transmission is the only one available. On the four-wheel drive models, a switch controlled two-speed transfer case is standard.

    Titan Brakes

    • The Titan has disc brakes on all four wheels. The front discs have a diameter of 13.8 inches, and the rears have a diameter of 12.6 inches. The brakes feature active braking, again being very useful for going down hill. Anti-lock braking is standard, as is electronic braking force distribution.

    Titan Dimensions

    • The wheelbase for the standard be version of the crew cab model is 139.8 inches, and the long bed's wheelbase 159.5 inches. The overall length of the standard bed is 224.6 inches, and the long bed's length is 244.2 inches. The width is 79.5 inches for all models. The height of all models of the Titan is 76.9 inches. Nissan also provides the interior dimensions of the beds. For a standard bed, the length is 67.3 inches by 63.8 inches wide. The long bed is 87 inches long by 63.8 inches wide. Both beds have a depth of 19.9 inches.
