- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be at least 17 years old (with parental consent if under 18)
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test
- Meet physical and medical standards
While having 15 college credits may help you in certain aspects of the enlistment process, such as potentially allowing you to enlist at a higher paygrade, it does not guarantee your acceptance into the Army. You must still meet all of the other requirements and successfully complete basic training in order to become a soldier.
