Article I: Name and Purpose

Section 1: Name

The name of this organization shall be Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda.

Section 2: Purpose

The purpose of this organization shall be to:

a) Promote the study of Greek language and culture.

b) Foster a sense of community among students interested in Greek language and culture.

c) Provide opportunities for students to develop their leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Article II: Membership

Section 1: Eligibility

Membership in Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda is open to all students who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program at the University of California, Berkeley, and who have an interest in Greek language and culture.

Section 2: Application Process

Students who wish to join Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda must submit an application form and pay the annual membership dues. The application form will include questions about the student's academic interests, extracurricular activities, and reasons for wanting to join the organization.

Section 3: Admission

Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements and are approved by the membership committee will be admitted to Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda.

Section 4: Dues

Annual dues for Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda are set by the executive board and are payable at the beginning of each academic year. Members who do not pay their dues by the due date will be considered inactive.

Section 5: Termination of Membership

Membership in Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda may be terminated for the following reasons:

a) Failure to pay dues for two consecutive years.

b) Violation of the organization's bylaws or code of conduct.

c) Withdrawal from the University of California, Berkeley.

Article III: Organization and Governance

Section 1: Executive Board

The executive board of Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda shall consist of the following officers:

a) President

b) Vice President

c) Secretary

d) Treasurer

e) Historian

Section 2: Election of Officers

Officers of Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda shall be elected by the general membership at the annual meeting. Officers shall serve for a term of one year and may be re-elected for a maximum of two terms.

Section 3: Duties of Officers

The duties of the officers of Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda are as follows:

a) President: The president shall preside over all meetings of the organization, appoint committee chairs, and represent the organization to the university and the community.

b) Vice President: The vice president shall assist the president in their duties and shall assume the duties of the president in the president's absence.

c) Secretary: The secretary shall keep minutes of all meetings of the organization, maintain records of membership, and send out correspondence.

d) Treasurer: The treasurer shall collect dues and manage the finances of the organization.

e) Historian: The historian shall maintain a record of the history of the organization, including photographs and other memorabilia.

Section 4: Meetings

Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda shall hold regular meetings at least once a month during the academic year. Special meetings may be called by the president, the executive board, or by a petition of 10% of the membership.

Section 5: Voting

All members of Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda are entitled to vote at meetings of the organization. Each member has one vote.

Section 6: Quorum

A quorum for meetings of Zeta Epsilon Alpha Lambda shall consist of 10% of the membership.
