What is PE Fellowship?

PE Fellowship refers to a postdoctoral fellowship in physics education research (PER). These fellowships are competitive awards granted to individuals who have completed a doctorate (PhD) in physics or a closely related field and wish to pursue research in improving physics teaching and learning.

The specific requirements and focus of a PE Fellowship can vary depending on the funding organization or institution offering it. However, generally, these fellowships provide:

* Funding: Support for a defined period (typically 1-3 years) covering salary, research expenses, and possibly travel.

* Mentorship: Guidance from established researchers in PER.

* Research Opportunities: Access to resources and collaborations to conduct impactful research in physics education.

* Professional Development: Opportunities to present research at conferences and workshops, build a professional network within the PER community, and develop teaching skills.

The goal of a PE Fellowship is to train the next generation of PER scholars who can contribute to the improvement of physics education at all levels, from K-12 to graduate school. Many institutions and organizations, such as the American Physical Society (APS), offer or support such fellowships.
