* The size of the students: Are they all petite, or are they large and tall?
* The model of the Beetle: Older Beetles are smaller than newer ones.
* How crammed they are willing to be: Safety and comfort would be severely compromised with a large number of people.
* The definition of "fit": Are we talking about squeezing in, or fitting comfortably?
Legally and safely, only the number of seatbelts available (usually four in a Beetle) should be occupied. Trying to fit more than that would be extremely dangerous and illegal.
