What is a higher dental degree DDS or DDM?

A DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and a DDM (Doctor of Dental Medicine) are essentially equivalent degrees. There is no difference in the level of education or scope of practice between them. The difference is primarily in the name and the historical tradition of the dental school granting the degree. Some schools use DDS, others use DDM.
