What order do you list academic degrees in nursing?

The order for listing academic degrees in nursing follows the standard order for listing academic degrees in general: from highest degree earned to lowest.

For example:

* PhD, RN (Doctor of Philosophy is higher than a Registered Nurse license)

* DNP, MSN, RN (Doctor of Nursing Practice is higher than a Master of Science in Nursing, which is higher than a Registered Nurse license)

* MSN, BSN, RN (Master of Science in Nursing is higher than a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which is higher than a Registered Nurse license)

The RN (Registered Nurse) designation is always included *after* any earned nursing degrees. You would *never* list it before a degree. If you have multiple degrees, list them all in descending order of academic level, with the RN at the very end.
