You can check to see if the state is hiring new instructors by visiting the Arizona Judicial Branch's human resources website (See Resources). Be prepared to submit your resume and cover letter to the state in addition to completing an online job application. In addition, see if the posted traffic school instructor position requires you to complete and turn in other documents such as writing samples or supplemental questionnaires.
Go to a pre-service seminar and two defensive driving school classes, which will teach you more about the traffic school instructor position. You must complete this requirement within 90 days of finishing your certification test.
Take any continuing education classes required by the Arizona Supreme Court's defensive driving board to renew your traffic instructor license. While working as an instructor, keep your driving record clean from major violations such as DUI convictions.
