Complete the application. Fill out the application form on NBC's secure website, or request an application packet from the admissions office to fill out and submit by mail. There is no charge to apply to NBC.
Obtain a certified, official copy of your high school or home-school transcripts, or proof of GED. Include these with your application. If you have attended college and wish to transfer credit toward your degree at NBC, you may instead submit your official college transcripts. Mail the transcripts to the admissions office in a separate envelope if you're completing the application online.
Include with your application a written essay between 750 and 1,000 words in length describing your commitment to Christian service, educational goals and reasons for wanting to attend Nazarene Bible College. You may submit this essay on NBC's website as well.
Obtain two letters of recommendation from people who aren't related to you. At least one of these letters of recommendation must be from your pastor or an authority at your church describing your commitment to a life of Christian service. If you're ordained by the Church of the Nazarene, one of these letters must come from your district superintendent. Mail these along with your transcripts to the admissions office if you're applying on the Internet; otherwise, include them with your completed application packet.
Apply for financial aid. In addition to traditional college funding sources such as Pell Grants, student loans and work-study programs, NBC has dozens of scholarships to help make education more accessible for its students. Some of these are merit-based while others are based on financial need or life circumstances. You may apply via mail or in person at the financial-aid office on campus. A financial-aid advisor can help answer any questions you may have, either in person or on the phone.
Select your classes once you've been accepted to the college. Review the requirements for your degree. Compare them to the courses you have already taken, if applicable. View the list of available online courses for the trimester (see Resources) on the NBC Online website by clicking the "Online Courses" button for the current school year. Nazarene Bible College divides its school year into three trimesters, for which eight credit hours are considered a full-time course load.
Register for online, at-home classes for the trimester. Visit the NBC Online home page. Log in with your student ID and password, which you receive from the admissions office when you are accepted to the college. Click the "Online Courses" button on the home page. Select the courses you want to take for the trimester, and follow the simple on-screen instructions to complete registration for the courses. You will receive an email confirmation that your registration is complete.
Pay any outstanding tuition fees that your financial aid package doesn't cover. The college assesses fees on a per-credit basis, and any additional fees vary by major and course requirement. All tuition is due immediately when you complete your class registration. Pay your balance on the school's website with a major credit card or debit card, or pay on campus at the bursar's office.
Purchase any required texts or materials for your classes. Log into the online website with your username and password and click the "Book List" button. You will see an automatically generated list of the books and materials you need to purchase. Once your fees are paid in full and you've purchased any required materials or texts, you'll be able to begin your online classes from home at the scheduled start date.
