The Washington Online Learning Institute

The Washington Online Learning Institute (WOLI) is an online college based in New York. It is regionally accredited by the Middle States Association Commission on Secondary Schools. WOLI offers certificate programs in the legal and medical fields. All classes are online.
  1. Programs

    • WOLI offers several paralegal programs. Students can choose from a National, Senior or Master Paralegal Certificate Program. These programs last from five to 15 months. Students who are already employed as a paralegal can take single courses for continuing education or can opt to take a special paralegal program.
      Also available is a Legal Nurse Consulting Program and a Senior Legal Nurse Consulting Program. These programs last from four to seven months. A Medical Coding and Billing Certificate Program and a Medical Office Administration Certificate Program are also available. The time to complete these programs is four to 12 months.

    Online Classroom

    • All classes at WOLI are entirely online. Classes are four to 10 weeks long and students can log in to class at their convenience, as long as assignments, tests, and discussion questions are completed on time. Classes are taught by professionals who have experience in their chosen field. Students learn from faculty who have real experience and can teach students how to apply what they learn to the world around them. Classes start every four weeks.

    Financing Options

    • Financing options for students attending WOLI are available. Tuition discounts are available for military personnel and senior citizens. WOLI offers its own student loans and have a 95 percent approval rate. Students can also take advantage of government assistance in the form of government student loans or grants. Some employers also offer tuition reimbursement and WOLI participates in these programs.

    Admissions

    • The admission criteria is having a high school diploma or GED. While students who already have work or other college experience might find the classes a little easier, it is not a requirement. Prospective students can complete the application online or can call 1-800-371-5581 for assistance or for answers to any questions.

    Work Force Investment

    • Prospective students who are unemployed might be surprised to find that WOLI participates in the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). The WIA is a training and employment program that helps unemployed individuals with training and other employment services. WOLI is an approved provider for California, Colorado, Indiana, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
