Prospective students must also pass the Dental Admission Test within three years of applying for the program.
Prospective students must submit a personal background form, application, $60 application fee and academic transcripts from high school and undergraduate education. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified by the university.
Students in the program attend four years in the UCLA quarter system. The program also requires participation in courses over three summer quarters.
Students of the four-year DDS course take classes in health sciences and didactic dental courses, and receive clinical experience. During the first two years, students take classes. The second two years consist of clinical education, focusing more on hands-on experience in the sub-fields of anesthesiology, operation, and periodontics.
Since a DDS program is a medical program, the cost of education is high. Living off-campus, a typical student may expect to spend around $287,000 to complete the program. The school offers financial aid.
