If you were 16 already graduated from high school with a desire to become history teacher what would be the first step take accomplish that goal?

My first step would be to apply to a college or university with a strong history program and a teacher education track. I'd research different schools, comparing their programs, reputation, and cost. I'd want to find a program that offers a Bachelor's degree in History with a concentration in secondary education or a similar program that combines both history and education coursework. Getting accepted into a good program would be crucial to achieving my goal of becoming a history teacher.
