Do you have to be legal go college?

In the United States, you do not have to be a legal citizen to attend college. However, there are some restrictions that may apply.

* Public universities: In most states, public universities are required to admit legal citizens and permanent residents on the same terms as citizens. However, some states may have additional requirements for non-citizens, such as higher tuition rates or a requirement to take English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

* Private universities: Private universities are not subject to the same rules as public universities, and they can set their own admissions requirements. As a result, some private universities may not accept non-citizens or may charge them higher tuition rates.

If you are a non-citizen, it is important to do your research before applying to college to make sure that you are eligible to attend. You should also contact the financial aid office at the colleges you are interested in to find out if you are eligible for financial aid.
