The College of Medicine's School of Biomedical Science at Ohio State University offers a Biomedical Science program preparing students for graduate study in medical research, medicine, dentistry or other related health care fields. OSU is one of only a few in the country to offer a program in biomedical science at the undergraduate level. The program is offered in partnership with the Ohio State University Medical Center. The four-year program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Professions. OSU's School of Biomedical Science also offers a Medical Scientist Program leading to a M.D. and a Ph.D., and a graduate program in Integrated Biomedical Science. Master and doctoral programs in Biomedical Engineering are offered through OSU's College of Engineering.

The five-year program offers two tracks -- biomechanics and medical device innovation -- which prepare students for careers in the growing fields of medical device design and manufacturing. The College of Engineering's Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Akron offers three tracks in its Biomedical Engineering program, each leading to a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Owens Community College offers a two-year degree option for students interested in biomedical careers. The Associate of Applied Science degree program in Biomedical Electronics prepares teaches students to repair and maintain electro-mechanical equipment used in field of medicine. A certificate program in Biomedical Electronics is also offered for individuals who already have a degree in electrical engineering.

The Department of Biomedical, Industrial & Human Factors Engineering, housed within the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Wright State University, offers a traditional four-year program in Biomedical Engineering, preparing students for career in the engineering industry, as well as a pre-medical track for students intending to pursue a medical, osteopathic, dental or veterinary degree.
